MY MISSION

THE CONCERT HALL: It is to be established in honor of a great African-American performer. Its intent is to showcase African-Americans and their music, yet not exclusive genres of Sacred History,

Education, Performing Arts, Dance and Drama. There is no better record of a people than their artistry through music, writing, sculpting, dancing or painting. The purpose of this Institute and Concert Hall is that of a living archive of African-American people

and their artistic culture through music.

PHASE II - The School Of Music

It will have (8) divisions of study, namely Vocal Music, Keyboards, Music Theory and Harmony, Sacred Music History, Instrumental Music, Music Technology, Percussion Instruments and Electronic Computer Music. Incorporated in each division will be the study of the art of fusing or combining elements of classical music with the element of music indigenous to the African-American

genre. All Vocal, Instrumental and Sacred Music students will be required to take Music History, Theory/Harmony and Music Practicum according to the students' program needs. Additional electives and options are encouraged. The school will be accredited.

PHASE III - The Cultural Arts-Humanities Library

The Library will be the informa- tion point of the Institute's direct interface with the Delaware Valley's Related Arts Communities, extending its resources to all the members of the Institute. It will serve as a hub of the Institute by hosting workshops, seminars, story-

telling sessions, symposiums and will be open to the general public.

PHASE IV

THE AFRICAN AMERICAN HALL AND WALL OF FAME

This venue recognizes and celebrates legends past and evolving. Six inductees every (2) years will be researched and nominated. The HALL AND WALL OF FAME will pictorially exhibit the history of African American Music. We honor such musicians as Marian Anderson, Mahalia Jackson, "Duke" Ellington, John Coltrane, Leontyne Price, Paul Robeson, Miles Davis, Scott Joplin, William Grant Still, W.E.B. DuBois, Jessye Norman, Louis Armstrong, Roland Hayes, R. Nathaniel Dett, Harry T. Burleigh, William Warfield, Kathleen Battle and others.
